3 Ingredient Salad Recipe
This post won’t be very long hence why I decided to name this “3 ingredient salad recipe”. This recipe is for the busy person who just doesn’t have time to make a meal that takes longer than 10 minutes at the most.
Maybe you need this recipe because you want to eat healthier but because of your schedule, it’s nearly impossible to figure out where to start.
Baby Steps to Health
Sometimes it’s better to take baby steps to your health journey to create a foundation that will carry you to the rest of your life. So rather than getting overwhelmed by trying to go “cold turkey” and trying all the things. Making a small step towards your health is better than no steps at all. So let’s get to it, shall we?
Simple 3 ingredient Salad Recipe
1: Bag of salad mix that contains romaine lettuce, red cabbage, and shredded carrots (I buy mine at Wal-Mart)
2: Croutons (I buy Caesar flavor), and put them in a baggie or a plastic sandwich baggie and smash the croutons until they are closer to a grainy powder. I like to crush it pretty finely but you don’t have to (I like to taste the crouton in every bite).
3: Goddess Dressing available at Trader Joes.
1: Pour about half of the bag of salad mix into a bowl or your lunch container, etc.
2: Add 1 – 2 tablespoons of crushed croutons.
3: Add 1 – 2 tablespoons of Goddess Dressing. (It is thick after being in the fridge but a little goes a long way).
Step 4: Mix and enjoy!
Hemp hearts can be a great addition for added protein and omega 3 fatty acids. Always remember that everything should be in moderation. Too much of anything is not good.
Along with hemp hearts, you can throw some chicken on top (preferably chicken breast) and as long as there is no added oil, you can consider this a win.
If you are packing this for lunch, the three ingredients should all be packed separately.
I like to use plastic disposable 2 oz sauce cups with lids where you can put your 1 – 2 tablespoons of dressing or croutons. This will take up very little space in your lunch bag.
I will many times eat an entire bag so it makes this really quick to prepare (just grab and go).
