Yogurt Parfait Recipe Combinations

Background

I love hosting and I realized I had created the best yogurt parfait recipes. I know that calling it the “best” is a stretch when you are just throwing stuff together. But guess what? This has been my go-to layout when having food out since Mother’s Day two thousand… um… it’s been at least 2 years. I noticed that every time I put out my “fruit parfait” buffet (hey that rhymes); I end up with more chips left over than fruit parfait choices.

That Time Again

I made sure to stock up this last time on berries and yogurt and only ended up buying a couple of bags of chips. I noticed that everyone was really digging the parfaits! and I think it was mostly the freedom of having choices. Maybe it’s because of my years of being a preschool teacher when my son was little, but I love putting everything on the table “buffet style”. I know it’s a favorite and they can always expect to have it when coming to my home. This time I want to experiment with a couple of extra ingredients or “toppings”. The grocery list below will show exactly what I buy every time.

Mom rule aka “Buffet Style”

Something else we do for dinner instead of serving everyone their own plate. I just have someone set the table and help me put the food on the table. I have this “mom rule” too. If you’re getting seconds and haven’t eaten any veggies or salad then I’m going to annoyingly bother you with nutrition facts, and say how much I love you and all the effort I go through to keep my family healthy blah blah blah… haha. Anyway, back to the best yogurt parfait recipes, or “combos” I guess you could call it.

Potluck | Friends & Family

I know many of us have not been back to work and potlucks are probably not happening as much right now. I do know though, that when someone asks before coming over, if they can bring anything I say, “yah if you want to bring some strawberries or whatever favorite berry or fruit you’d like would be great!”. Don’t be afraid to say what you want people to bring because what I’ve noticed is, they usually bring something anyway ha-ha.

I remember being a kid and having potlucks with the neighborhood kids. Everyone brought candy, chips, or drinks to share. We would play music on the radio and we felt like grownups having a party. Potlucks can be done when you have family too. Or with friends for an in-home girl’s night. This is a great way to provide a simple snack for any gathering.

The Best Yogurt Parfait Recipes Grocery List

  1. Vanilla yogurt (any brand, I’ve tried them all)
  2. Non-Dairy Vanilla Almond Milk Yogurt (for those who are vegan or lactose intolerant)
  3. Vanilla Greek Yogurt
  4. ‘Nature Valley’ Oats N’ Honey Granola Bars
  5. Blueberries
  6. Strawberries (cut into smaller pieces)
  7. Small bowls, or Cups (I suggest small cups) for self-serve
  8. Larger Bowls for the berry variety, and one for the granola
  9. Spoons (A small spoon can go into each bowl for serving)

Tip: Be sure to crush the granola bars until there are no chunky pieces. (Thinking of babies, guests’ teeth, and those on a diet who only want to sprinkle their parfait).

It’s super simple and doesn’t cost very much if you can get the berries on sale.
